Healthy Babies

When a baby is healthy and safe and secure and in an interactive, supportive relationship, their brain development benefits, and you have the best possible chance for a great outcome for that child as they continue to grow. As such, pregnant mothers and mothers with infants and toddlers living in the Normandy Schools Collaborative (NSC) footprint have access to a variety of full health and wraparound services for their babies.

Developmental Screenings and Early Intervention

Every child should have easy access to the best tools to ensure that they are on track. The partners and members of the Community Impact Network’s 5byAge5 coalition have worked for the past eleven years to provide these tools, to empower parents and childcare providers to ready the children of the Normandy Schools Collaborative (NSC) footprint for kindergarten, and to be on track for success. Developmental screenings are a key tool for making sure children are on track.

Community Supports in the NSC Schools

While children growing up within the 24 municipalities that comprise the Normandy Schools Collaborative footprint may face many challenges, they also have many opportunities for greatness. A critical key to meeting those opportunities is education, and several organizations are working to ensure students are ready for the classroom and prepared to learn and succeed.

Community Resources in the 24:1

From kindergarten to post-secondary education, children in the Normandy Schools Collaborative (NSC) face gaps compared to their peers throughout the rest of Missouri. We all play an impactful role in supporting our children on the way to their bright future, and within the NSC footprint, there are many great community resource organizations families and children can engage with.

Safe and Stable Housing

Safe and stable housing is foundational to quality of life in the 24:1. Many community members experience housing instability, which can undermine their potential and make long-term educational and career goals almost impossible. Several organizations support community members navigating this issue.
