Description:

First Steps is Missouri’s Early Intervention system that provides services to families with children, birth to three years of age, with disabilities or developmental delays. Benchmark Human Services in the St. Louis office is seeking a qualified and caring person to work as an Administrative Assistant for MO First Steps.

MO First Steps has a full-time position and temp positions available.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  *   Knowledgeable about the First Steps process in order that they can respond to general questions from the public in a timely manner

  *   Manage the day-to-day administrative function required of a SPOE office operation: customer contact (phone/email/mail, etc.), filing, document preparation, data entry, supplies, maintenance, and IT support

  *   Accept phone calls at SPOE office: referrals and inquiries

  *   Utilize the program’s web-based record system

  *   Process referrals received, complete data entry into WebSPOE system, assign to Referral/Intake Coordinators

  *   Review referrals with SPOE Director or Lead Family Service Coordinator to determine the need for education surrogate

  *   Assist Service Coordinators with data entry related to the record keeping system

  *   Provide administrative support to SPOE Director

  *   Able to meet timelines and deadlines

  *   Communicate effectively with staff and consumers to ensure all needs are met

  *   Comply with all standards to ensure the health and safety of all staff and clients we serve

 

General Qualifications:

  *   High school diploma or equivalent

  *   Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance

  *   Excellent organizational and communication skills

  *   Experience with Microsoft office applications
