Storytelling: December Missouri Historical Society

LOCATION: History Clubhouse | Museum

This program takes place in person.

Storytelling programs at the Missouri History Museum engage our youngest visitors and their families with songs, movement, traditional and contemporary storybooks, and local history. Each story time connects with a different theme that helps children explore their world and develop a love of reading. All story times are led by a dedicated educator who makes the activity interactive, and we take special care to choose books that present a variety of experiences and people our young guests can see themselves in. Storytelling in the Museum supports early literacy and is a great opportunity for age-appropriate social emotional learning.

These programs are recommended for children ages 2–6 and their families, and each 30-minute session is free. Storytelling in the Museum takes place in person on Fridays and second Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:00am, and our Spanish-language storytelling Cuentos occurs second Saturdays and the fourth Friday of each month. Please be advised that Storytelling in the Museum and Cuentos en el Museo will be held outdoors in our Bernoudy Courtyard. If there is inclement weather we will relocate to a spacious indoor setting.
